DJ Atomika :

- Make that not only platinums will count, I thought a system like: gold and bronze 1 point, silver 2 points and platinum 5 points (or even more): the goal is to give other chances in games where they aren't many charts or only 1 player pro game and overall keep the quality of records (to avoid "dangerous" spammer).

So, you have to play in Flow Free, and you are good ranked? Right? It isn't that bad .. But Gold Medal is so easy to obtain, players will be focus on these games..

So how about a free-for-all tournament. All players in the same pool where top 50% will advance for next week. I think we need a tournament page for it that is updated in real time, so we can monitor our position more easily. And a countdown clock that shows how much time is left in the current round.

I like the idea, but maybe, instead of 50%, we could eliminate each week 2/3/4 members (if there are 20 or 30 members participating), to have a tournament a bit longer and with more active players

No matter what tournament rules are used, the best idea is where most people feel like doing. There may have been 10 active players in the current tournament.

My idea is the elimination round. 32 players collect platinum and at the end of the day the last one is eliminated. The good players have to be careful not to lose platinum right from the start, and those who gain a lead are relatively sure.

Hi everyone, I found this discussion only a few days ago, since it was suggested by Zephyraz in the comments on the tournament.

As stated before: I consider myself an average player here, so one of the things I would like to see different in the tournament is the way you can progress to the next round. in the last tournament (fall 2019) we saw someone reach the semi final with a minmum amount of platinums. One the one hand I say: good for you, wish I was in your place ;) On the other hand: it doesn tell much about your strentgh as a player.

I would suggest at least one week with a knockout system. Let everyone post their platinums, and at the end of the week the 32 players with the most plats go to the second week. Reset the counter and do this again. Keep doing this until the last 8 (quarterfinales).  from the last 8, progress the same way as in the current tournament.

Another thing that is bothering me in the current system, are the games that have a multi platinum scoring possibility. I know, I mentioned it before on the tournament disscussion 2 weeks ago, but lets have a look at it here in this discussion.

One thing I can think of is outlawing games with 100+ platinum scoring possibilities (100 is just a number here, it could be 10 or 1000 as well)

Another thing I could think of, Is playing voor Cups, instead of platinums. This way many games would have to be explored, and maybe we will see longer scoring lists on games that only have 5 or less players posted here. And the advantage of big scoring games like the flow games would be neutralized.

I hope the discussion is still open, since the last comment before me was one year ago...
