Can we please move Wii U to a seperate game for Super Mario Kart NSTC & PAL because the Wii U has a feature called Save States which can be abused to retry from any point so for example: if you were to fail a glitch in a track but if you did a save state you could retry from any point on the same lap, along with the seperate game can we add the platforms 3DS & Switch to it because they also have SMK & the Save State feature.

Also, if possible could you move my SMK records to this new Save State Version because all my records were played on 3DS however I didnt use any save states but there is no proof of that, but I guess it would make sense to move it since its a platform that isn't valid on the no save-state ver.

Don't need to bump for 1 day. About this, is there's no differences between the two platforms?

Its the same I'm pretty sure. I know for sure on 3DS its the same because I have it. I think cyberscore has the switch it all in one game and no separations so I think you would be fine adding these missing platforms.

Hi Richie,

I think the issue here, is that the Wii U and 3DS versions have the "save anywhere" feature for retro Virtual Console games, so these games cannot be grouped with the original platform releases, due to this advantage.

If you have the Wii U or 3DS version it would be best not to add records under the original platform records and instead see about adding a seperate platform for these versions if you wish.

Another example of this issue is the recent release of the Sega Mega Drive Mini Console a few months ago, it supports the "save anywhere" feature, so the games on it (although the same) cannot be grouped with the original Mega Drive platform releases. Check MEGD and MEGDC under "list of platforms".

A good example of the unfair advantage these versions have could be something like; saving before a difficult boss at the end of a game, so you could restart again at this point if you died, instead of the very beginning of the game.

Thanks!

First off I'd like to point out the Wii has already been added and isn't in my request, I stated the missing platforms we're 3DS & Switch. Secondly I think the save anywhere option in virtual console Games  only appears on the Wii U, I cannot confirm this because I don't have a Wii U but I haven't found any save state option in the 3DS virtual console. The only save states possible for 3DS would be via hacking your 3DS. So In conclusion I think this is fine.

Hi,

I am not talking about the Wii, it is fine, it does not have the "save anywhere" feature for Virtual Console games.

I am only talking about "New 3DS" (since it only has SNES Virtual Console), and "Wii U".

If you press the bottom screen on the 3DS you can choose to "Create Restore Point".

The Switch versions features this option as well check here:

Thanks!

Ok so basically when tapping the bottom screen in SMK virtual console for 3DS the only things that appear are Resume Game, Reset, Settings → Original Resolution  & Sharing Gameplay Information.

I don't have virtual console games for the switch so I can't confirm that but I'll take your word for it.

Something worth pointing out about this method is that its allowed on cyberscore, do you think this could be allowed on VGR, personally I doubt it though.

So right now all I know is that 3DS Is the only approvable platform for SMK.

Hi,

So just to clarify the 3DS, Wii U and Switch consoles all support the "save anywhere" for Virtual Console games.

I do not think VGR would be in favour of mixing records of these versions with original platforms, due to the huge advantage I highlighted over the original systems. I am not in favour of it, it is not fair.

You could ask Yuri or someone on the team what they think about creating a separate platform for the these versions. Something similar to the MEGDC I mentioned in my example above perhaps.

Thanks again!

Alright I think I'll edit this post. Can I ask though how do you access the save anywhere in 3DS?

Hi,

Read the 3DS section in this link:

Hi Richie,

it is best to always add to the forum conversation rather than to edit a previous post, because it makes the conversation very difficult for the team and future players to follow.

It will lead to confusion.

Just a little tip for the future!

Thanks again!
